Hertha Berlin vs FC Augsburg

2pm kick-off, Sunday 15th May 2011, Olympic Stadium, Berlin, Germany

Dates – not sure… could do a mammoth, one-day session on the Sunday, or go on the Friday or Monday. Open to suggestions, and we can of course travel at different times. Match ticket price – TBC, but I’ll book above the Ostkurve, so it’ll be about 15 Euros. Accommodation – same place as before, so depending on numbers we’re talking 10-15 Euros a man per night. Flights – anywhere from £50-£100 return, depending on where you fly from and what days you’re there.

Please leave a comment indicating your availability for this unmissable Super A’s fixture!

  1. Yes! I am going, obviously, as I haven’t been to a match this season, and this is the last one, which should be a promotion-celebrating sell-out if there is any justice in this world.

  2. i’m going to rome the on the 16th, cant make it, gutted

  3. Clint Dempsey Says:

in… probably my last European hurrah.

  4. im in! Beer football Women game on!

  5. Yeah why not. I’m in also!

  6. I’m keen – can I bring non-football types? I’m referring to James, not the missus for any worries amongst you…

  7. *worriers

  8. James is exceptionally welcome to come along.

  9. So far that’s looking like:

    Gage
    Gorrie
    Greaves (via email)
    Hawkins
    Hinceman
    Tinsley
    Turner

Once I have an approximate idea of numbers I’ll put forward some suggestions of flights etc. Nutcase that I am, I’m half wondering whether to squeeze in a trip to the “yellow wall” the day before:

    http://blogs.reuters.com/soccer/2010/09/17/dortmunds-yellow-wall-of-sound/

25,000 standing section in an 80k+ stadium, the biggest in Europe. Nice.

  10. I’m keen. I’ve got a mate’s stag-do late May/early June – I’ll find out this week whether there’s a clash – if not count me in. Understand Brendan is keen to go, too.

  11. Currently at 8:

    Gage
    Gorrie
    Greaves (via email)
    Hawkins
    Hinceman
    Stickland
    Tinsley
    Turner

  12. Tim and I are on these flights:

  13. Sorry, missed Moss’ response previously, so add Moss and Webb to the mix.

  14. The tickets have just gone up! what flights are other people getting on?

  15. Yep, looks like those flights have gone up. To confirm, we’re on:

    Sat 14-May-11 London (LHR)
    Depart 14:40 to Berlin (TXL)
    Arrive 17:30
    Flight: 845

    Mon 16-May-11 Berlin (TXL)
    Depart 13:05 to London (LHR)
    Arrive 14:05
    Flight: 844

Feel free to book a different flight if you like. If you need any advice just shout.

  16. http://www.kayak.co.uk is good for searching flights.

  17. Mil do you ever fly into TXL Berlin Tegel?

  18. Yep, any airport in Berlin is fine, makes little difference. We’re flying to Tegel.

  19. Cheapest return flights at the moment (£71.58) are with Ryanair:

London Stansted to Berlin SXF – 14/05/2011 18:45hrs
    Berlin SXF – London Stansted = 16/05/2011 09:35hrs

This option means you miss a bit of drinking time on the Saturday, but hey, the flights are cheap!

  20. A nicer, earlier option for the Saturday is to get the 08:50 from Heathrow to Tegel. Adds about £20 to the aforementioned cost, but gives you lots of beer time. Found this via: http://www.edreams.co.uk

  21. The list is:

    Gage
    Gorrie
    Greaves (via email)
    Hawkins
    Hinceman
    Moss
    Stickland
    Tinsley
    Turner
    Webb

    Flights booked for:

    Hawkins
    Stickland

  22. Me and Dan are booked on

    Sat 14-May-11
    London (LHR) > Berlin (TXL)
    Depart 09:10
    Arrive 12:00
    bmi
    Flight: 843

    Mon 16-May-11
    Berlin (TXL) > London (LHR)
    Depart 21:25
    Arrive 22:15
    bmi
    Flight: 848

  23. Progress!

    That’s now flights booked for:

    Gage
    Hawkins
    Stickland
    Tinsley

  24. Clint Dempsey Says:

My flight is booked. Easyjet into Berlin early Saturday morning and out early evening on Monday.

  25. Gorrie
    Greaves (via email)
    Moss
    Turner
    Webb

    Flights booked for:

    Gage
    Hawkins
    Hinceman
    Stickland
    Tinsley

  26. Webb and I have got our match tickets ordered.
We just have to decide whether to take the sleazyjet flights at suitable times at significant cost, or in the middle of the night for about 5p each.

  27. Nice work! If you need any advice on flights just shout. Remember, either airport is fine, and, at a push, if you can’t take Monday off you could get the late Sunday fight as that airport can be reached on the train directly from the Stadium.

  28. I’ve now had confirmation from the following, all of whom have flights and match tickets:

    Gage
    Greaves
    Hart
    Hawkins
    Hinceman
    Moss
    Stickland
    Tinsley
    Webb

    Nice work everyone!

  30. Andrew Hart Says:
