I was upset to see such a talented team suffer from the lack of commitment shown by its missing players. Only true players’ players turn up to a sure loss- and my how graciously that loss was played out.
Said players’ players Bonell, Lissimore, Stickland and Turner fought and fought until not even “Arse biscuits” could be muttered from their war battered lungs. This “heroin addled” non Scot was proud to join such a noble cause. Though I wonder now if the two goals were only scored because I wasn’t wearing the cursed navy strip.
Ali once said of long time nemesis Frasier “when my god asks me to go to holy war I want him by my side”. Well, when my PowerLeague ref asks me to go to certain football death, I want Bonell, Lissimore, Stickland and Turner by my side.
